Women in Web3: Metaverse for Education Newsletter Issue #10
This is a special issue highlighting projects led by women in web3.
Hello Educators & Friends,
This past month, weâve spread a ton of web3 love.
We hosted a preview party in the Eduverse
We facilitated the top most attended session on blockchain for education at SXSW Edu
We spoke on a Women in Web3 panel at CSTM Haus
We talked future of schooling with National Association of Independent Schools & Educators Without Borders
We unveiled our Ed3 Educators NFT collection
We talked web3 on the keynote panel at the annual Webflow conference
We discussed the future of Web3 with Columbia Teachers College
In the next two weeks, I am keynoting at AATE and speaking on a web3 panel at ASU/GSV.
Our goal is to bring web3 to educators so weâre really proud that weâre making an impact in a time when ârug pullsâ are becoming more prevalent in web3.
It's also important to recognize that web3 is still male dominated.
Considering that 75% of k12 educators and 60% of k20 global educators are self-identifying female, and in honor of International Womenâs Month, we thought weâd take the love one step further and dedicate this issue to women led web3 projects.
Women in Web3 Landscape
We explored 260 projects (not including NFTs) across web3 to find women-led web3 companies. We found 40. Thatâs only 15%.
When we dove deeper into these organizations, many didn't have a real product or service. We found 14 communities including 6 DAOs that are doing interesting things. We also found the top 28 unique NFT projects led by women that seem to be making progress toward their roadmaps.
The world of web3 is genuinely exciting but sometimes it can be difficult to find your niche, especially for women. Good news is many of us are excited to support each other. But always do your own research - scams are still out there.
We hope this helps, a bit. Thanks for learning with us.
Warmly yours,
Vriti & k20 Educators team
